Retail and food court fit-outs in Sydney

Retail, food court and amenities fit-outs in Sydney shopping centres and towers, planned around trading hours, centre management and the tenants next door.

Food court with a sculpted curved ceiling bulkhead and timber batten ceiling, MLC Centre, Sydney CBD

In a shopping centre or a tower food court, the centre makes the rules. Trading hours, dock bookings, hoarding standards and the tenants on either side all shape how a retail fit-out runs. Most of our retail work has been in exactly that setting, in Sydney centres and CBD towers.

Centre management is part of the team

Before we price, we get the centre's fit-out guide and design criteria and walk the site with the centre manager. Hoarding, after-hours access, dock times and how waste leaves the site all get agreed up front, so there are no surprises once we're on site.

Food courts are the busiest job in the building

A food court is at its busiest when everyone else is at lunch, so the work has to happen around that peak. We did the MLC Centre food court upgrade in 2023, in a building that never really stops.

Amenities bring shoppers back

Clean, bright amenities make a real difference to how a centre feels. At Lidcombe Shopping Centre we upgraded the centre's amenities. Our piece on commercial refurbishment covers staging that kind of work.

A single shop, done properly

For one tenancy the questions are simple: what the base build gives you in power, water, exhaust and sprinklers, what the centre has to approve, and how the shopfront goes in without the hoarding staying up for weeks. We answer them before work starts so the opening date holds.

Food tenancies

Cafes and food outlets add kitchens, exhaust and grease traps to the mix. We cover those in restaurant and cafe fit-outs.

If you've got a centre upgrade or a new tenancy coming up, talk to Dylan, Matt or Neil. There's more on our commercial work and on commercial fit-outs.

Questions people ask

Can you work outside trading hours?

Yes. In a centre or a tower food court, most of the noisy and dusty work happens before opening or after close, in line with the centre's rules.

Do you work to the centre's fit-out guide?

Yes. We read the centre's fit-out guide and design criteria before we price, and we agree hoarding, access and dock times with centre management up front.

Can you build from our shopfitter's or designer's drawings?

Yes. We build from your consultants' drawings and coordinate the services and approvals around them.
