Aged care & retirement living

Five homes ready for their next residents

Laidre refurbished five RFBI retirement living units in four NSW towns (Goulburn, Berry, Basin View and Coffs Harbour) on one program, between residents. Each unit got demolition, waterproofing, tiling, new kitchen joinery and new flooring, and was signed off with a completion checklist. All five were finished on 22 September 2026, and RFBI has asked us to do more.

An empty unit is a home nobody can move into

RFBI had five units to refurbish between residents, spread across four towns from the South Coast to the North Coast. While a unit sits empty, the village loses income and the next resident waits to move in.

What we did

  • Recorded each unit's condition before work started.
  • Staggered demolition across the four towns between 27 July and 6 August, so the trades could move from one site to the next.
  • Fully refurbished each unit: demolition, waterproofing, tiling, new kitchen joinery and new flooring.
  • Signed off every unit with a completion checklist for RFBI.

All five done together

All five units were finished on 22 September 2026, and the completion checklists went to RFBI on 28 September. The few small defects were fixed, the last on 18 October. RFBI has since asked us to refurbish more units, including at Iris Court and Orchid Court at Hawkins.

Thanks

Thanks to Mattia and the trades who moved between four towns to make it work, and to the team at RFBI.
