The heart of the village, refurbished

Laidre refurbished the community centre at Aveo Bayview Gardens, a retirement village in Bayview on Sydney's Northern Beaches. We redid the ground floor and dining area, built an outdoor dining area, put in audio with a hearing loop, built an accessible path from the carpark and installed an external bush lift. Bokor Architects designed it.

Where a village comes together

The community centre is where Bayview Gardens residents eat together, catch up with friends and see visiting family. The ground floor needed a full refurbishment, and residents needed an easy, safe way in, including from the carpark and down the slope.

What we did

Refurbished the ground floor of the community centre, including the dining area.
Built a new outdoor dining area.
Installed audio with a hearing loop, and upgraded the IT, working with Aveo's technology team on site.
Delivered an accessible path from the carpark to the entry.
Installed an external bush lift, approved under its own DA.
Took the job through certification with the architect, certifier, access consultant, arborist and fire contractors.
